Campsite Padova III***

The Padova III campsite is situated very close to the town of Rab. The camp can accommodate around 1500 guests on its orderly plots, be it on its flat portion or on the small hill along the border of the camp, which is covered in centuries-old pines and is a favourite spot for younger guests choosing to holiday in tents. The camp boasts an excellent infrastructure, a leisure and shopping centre, restaurants and a gym. The town of Rab can be reached by boat in only five or six minutes or on foot, a pleasant walk lasting 20 minutes. In front of the campsite there is a well-tended sandy beach, with mooring for small boats and a smaller stony beach along the coastal road.

    • Camp size: 6.5 ha
    • Camping lots: 150 tent pitches and 310 fenced pitches (80-100 m2) with electricity and water.
    • Mobile homes: 41 mobile home - ‘4+2’, and 2 mobile homes ‘2+1’.
    • Sanitary facilities: 4 toilet and washing facilities equipped with washbasins, showers and toilets. There is a place for washing pets. There is a chemical WC for emptying caravans. Washing, drying and ironing are available on request.

    The position

    The island of Rab belongs to the northern group of Adriatic islands in the Kvarner Gulf and is located in the 44th parallel north.
    It lies at the foot of Velebit, the distance from the city of Rijeka is approx. 105 km.

      Via Salzburg and Karawanken Tunnel into Slovenia, onward via Ljubljana and Postojna in the direction of Croatia and the city of Rijeka, from the city of Rijeka on along the Adriatic coastline road 105 km to the ferry port Jablanac or over the Krk bridge to the island of Krk and from Valbiska harbour by the ferry to Lopar harbour on the island of Rab

      Via Vienna and Graz into Slovenia, onward via Maribor to Zagreb, from the direction of Budapest and the city of Varaždin to Zagreb, from Zagreb along the highway to Žuta Lokva, then onward in the direction of the city of Senj, then 38 km along the Adriatic coastline road in the direction of Split to the ferry port Jablanac

      Across Switzerland into Italy and onward via Milan, Venice and Trieste in Slovenia, on in the direction of Croatia and the city of Rijeka, from the city of Rijeka along the Adriatic coastline road 105 km to the ferry port Jablanac or over the Krk bridge to the island of Krk and from Valbiska harbour by the ferry to Lopar harbour on the island of Rab

      From the direction of Dalmatia via Split motorway towards Zadar over the Gospić, and further down the local mountain road the town of Karlobag and along the Adriatic coastline road from the town of Karlobag to the ferry port Jablanac or via Split and Zadar motorway to the exit Starigrad- Paklenica and further along the Adriatic coastline road in the direction of Rijeka to the ferry port Jablanac.

      "Rapska plovidba": Jablanac – Mišnjak - Jablanac
      The best connection between the island and the mainland is via the ferry service operated by Rab carrier Rapska plovidba, which departs from the dock in Jablanac on the mainland and arrives at the Mišnjak dock on the south side of the island of Rab. The journey takes only 12 minutes and the route operates all year round, with a departure every one to two hours.

      "LNP": Valbiska – Lopar – Valbiska
      The ferry service from the port of Lopar in the north of the island of Rab to the port of Valbiska on the island of Krk and back operates all year round, with departures twice a day, four times a day in the summer months. The journey takes one hour and 30 minutes.
